Michael Menegon

Accompanist

Michael Menegon is a graduate of the School of TDT, where he was very fortunate to have been mentored by master percussionist Ricardo Abreut.  In the 25 years since, he has played at many studios in Toronto including Canada’s National Ballet School and Toronto Dance Theatre.   He co-founded and directed the fringe Festival of Independent Dance Artists.

Menegon has self-produced and choreographed over 25 dance concerts, toured Canada and Mexico, received choreographic awards from the Canada Council for the Arts, and was the creative director and performer for the technology-based BeatSuit Projects.  He is currently the choreographer and director at AX Productions, creating a new work fusing Middle Eastern dance and Western-based music styles.  In addition he is busy as a singer/songwriter, performing original music in and around Toronto.
