Beginning this piece, I knew I had 21 dancers. The number 21 is found in the Fibonacci sequence. 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21.... In 1202, Leonardo Fibonacci revealed this sequence to the world thus affecting how we see mathematics, science, and philosophy. The sequence appears in many places on our bodies - length of our fingers, our DNA, the electrical signals sent to our heart, etc. While the piece developed a life of its own, this is how we started.
