Discover Contemporary Dance 2007/08
Each year, The School of Toronto Dance Theatre’s outreach programs encourage hundreds of students to experience and explore the intensely physical movements of contemporary dance. For 2007/08, we are delighted to be offering a range of educational activities.
NEW! flux Education Tour
this exciting curriculum includes a mixed program of contemporary dance performances featuring talented artists of the School's Graduate Project, and a hands-on movement workshop designed to meet the needs of your students
Student Matinees
featuring dancers from our Professional Training Program in new works and classic repertory; all performances are held in our on-site theatre, located in the heart of historic Cabbagetown
- Master Classes
on-site classes with our highly regarded faculty, tailored to the individual needs of visiting school groups
- Group Visits
opportunities to observe select professional classes of various contemporary dance techniques at the School

Guided Tours
a walk specifically designed for small groups, future students, and their families, through our Heritage-designated facility

Designed for a creative learning experience, our Student Matinees cost only $5 per student and include:
- performances of classic and/or new works by renowned choreographers (approx. 1 hour);
- an introduction to each work led by an artistic staff member of The School of Toronto Dance Theatre;
- a question & answer period immediately following the performance, where students are introduced to the dancers and encouraged to find out more about contemporary dance (approx. 30 min.);
- optional master classes scheduled before/after the matinee performance, (available at an additional cost for 1 or 1.5 hours; alternative dates/times may be arranged).

• selected works from Peggy Baker, Margie Gillis, Christopher House, Louis Laberge-Côté, José Limón, and Julia Sasso
• featuring emerging artists from our Professional Training Program in duet and small group repertory

MOMENTUM 2008 - May 02 & 08
• selected works from Massimo Agostinelli, Sasha Ivanochko, Tedd Robinson, Julia Sasso, and Darryl Tracy
• featuring dancers from all three years of our Professional Training Program in ensemble repertory

Limited seating - book early to avoid disappointment!**
Please have the following information available in order to request a Student Matinee booking:
- your date of choice
- number and grade level of students
- dance experience of students (e.g. taking a dance course; please note, experience is not necessary)
- number of accompanying teachers, including yourself
- name and mailing address of your school, including telephone and fax numbers
- your e-mail address
* All dates, times, and choreographers are subject to change.
** Upon booking, a first deposit (50% of the grand total) will be due within four weeks.
